Japanese Temari balls are a Japanese craft from the 7century and Temari means handball. Originally used as toys but today used as decorations and accessories. Traditionally Temari given as gifts from parents to children but nowadays used for weddings and ceremonial occasions to bring the recipient health and happiness. Every pattern is different . The Temari starts off as a piece of knotted thread and is continuously wound round until the desired ball width is achieved, then the pattern is worked. Each ball takes 2 to 3 days to create.
